To participate in our “Diabetic Summer Fitness” program, you do not need to be a part of the weight loss program to be eligible for this summer fitness program. Lorain County diabetic participants will receive a free Carousel Swim Club season membership. Carousel Swim Club is located at 1451 Lake Breeze Road in Sheffield.

Carousel offers a variety of physical fitness activities, including water walking and lap swimming in an Olympic size pool, shuffleboard, volleyball, basketball, and more. Volunteer Services for Diabetics also offers a Diabetic Fitness program at EMH Fitness Center. Diabetics must have a referral letter from their physician to participate in this program.

Space is limited and program eligibility will be determined by physician referral, application date, and Volunteer Services for Diabetics program assistance guidelines. Diabetics interested in participating may schedule an intake evaluation by telephoning (440) 949-7036. This program is restricted to Lorain County residents at this time.
